Spring is in the air.

Yeh, been a while since the last update.
Thought i'd post something to keep this thing alive. Havent been doing much lately, except for the usual routine. Booked my vacation, going to Luxembourg with Noud and Tom for a week. Going to be same thing as last year, trying to drive as much as possible.

Rob is doing a great job on the site :), still isnt finished yet, but its looking good already.

As it was really nice weather, i washed my car today. After that went for a drive, did some filming. I got some pretty ok shots, which im editing at this moment. Will post that when its finished.

Oh Snap!

Its time for a little update :). Ive been wanting to get a 4pt. harness for quite some time now.

Since im not realy big or anything, i get thrown around the car a lot, mostly during hard cornering. Those days are over, oh yeah!

I drove to FullCarTuning last saturday, picked up a QSP 4pt. harness, and a D2 Quickrelease for my Nardi Deepcorn. Went straight to work afterwards, installed both in the car, and then drove home.

Man, what an improvement. I really cant move out of my seat anymore :). The steeringwheel is also a bit closer now, and even though i can barely reach the indicator, i wouldnt want to have it any other way.

So on sunday i went for a little cruise. After i got home i set about fixing the following problem:

My horn button. While it didnt quite fit inside the GDL hub, it definately didnt fit in the D2 quickrelease. So, i had to customize it a bit. And it works now, yay!

New Video

Yay, i made another video :).
So last week, Noud, Tom and I went out to shoot some footage/pics of their cars. After a lot of fiddling to get the editing program to work properly, i finally set about editing the footage.


Anyways, it was a fun night. And afterwards, my rightarm was kind of sore, cause i was hanging out of the window for a long time :P. After we'd spent about an hour right next to the prison wall, and where just about to leave, the cops showed up. All suited up in bulletproof vests, they asked us kindly to leave. So we did :P.

Anyways, as i didnt have a whole lot of footage to edit, the film is rather short. Thats all because i forgot to recharge both (!) camera batteries, and only had about 40 minutes of battery life left.
Better luck next time.

On another note, Wangan Warriors is growing :). Noud and I decided it was time to finally do something with it, so we got a few new members. A website is in the works, and its all looking nice :). Hopefully more on that soon.

Bought a new keyboard today, cause i messed my old one up with a glass of coke.
Gotto take the new one back to the shop tho, cause the O is semi-fucked, and the N doesnt feel right either. Bollocks :(

OMG, Problems?

So, last week, my car started acting up. Final stretch home, while going over the speedbumps, my CEL light came on, and the car started running a bit weird :(. Turned the car off, started it again, and it ran normal without any CEL. Weird stuff. So yeh, that was friday.

On saturday Noud and Rens arrived. Went and did a little photoshoot in the evening. Car held up pretty good, missing a few beats tho :(. No lights coming on, so that was better.

Went to a meet on sunday with Noud and Rens. Was pretty cool, sun was shining, and a lot of cool cars there :). Im getting the pics sent to me as i type this, so might update later today with some pics :). While driving to the meet, the CEL light came on again, damnit. Dont know what it is, but it dissapears as soon as i turn the car off, and on again.

On the way back home, i didnt have any problems. We did get a speedingticket tho -_-. Just arrived, a whopping 20 euros! I know, im a criminal, and should be ashamed of myself.

Last week was pretty normal, nothing special happened. Yesterday at work, this guy with an Autobianchi A112 abarth came in to have his wheels balanced. Pretty cool car to see. The guy (somwhere between his 50's and 60's) pulled away with a burnout :).

Also, i need to get myself a new phone. A phone that can take some proper pictures, cause this piece of crap is worthless :(.

Flashback!

Man, time goes by so fricking fast.

Its been like 2 years since i last drove my 200sx. I miss that car.

Fun to drive, but a whole lot of trouble to keep it like that. I decided to get rid of it, cause it kept on breaking down on me :(. Turbogaskets where blown to shreds, replaced them (a days work!), and a week later, my turbo blew -_-. Sourced a new turbo, also replaced the headgasket, because i had an oilleak. Removed the cilinderhead, and i found a big crack in the block :(. Tried to save it by filling it up with some putty, but it didnt help. Drove it for a few km's after that, starting smoking again, it was done :(. Sold it to the breakers.

Maybe in the future, there will be place for another rearwheel driven japanese beast.

For now its all economic understeer, baby!

(still able to pwn some sx's in the twisty bits tho ^^)

Finally, ive got pictures of the Bomex wing :). Last weekend, me and Noud went out to shoot some pics, but in the rush i forgot to put them on my usb stick. So i switched sticks with Noud.

Fridaynight, he and his cousin Tommie arrived at my place. Woke up at 11, went to my work, and put Tommie's civic a few inches closer to the ground. Dont have any pics of that, all i can tell is that it looks nice :). He chose to buy the same set i have (Koni 1130).

Paint!

On tuesday, my wing arrived at work. Too bad i had to go to school, so i missed it :(. So i unpacked it on wednesday morning, and was going to paint it in the evening, which was a huge FAIL.

What happened? Well, i went out to get some paint, and they had like 20 different kinds of black. So i thought, black is black, right? WRONG! Turns out, that out of the 20 blacks, there was 1 which had green metalic in it. Guess which one i picked -_-.

Right, thursday. Went to work a bit early, so i could sand most of the black/green off, so i could finally get some proper paint on. All went well, and im pretty happy with the result.

Its not perfect. While spraying the clear, the can kinda jammed a bit, so i have 1 big drop on one of the wing bits. Other than that, it looks pretty good. Cant wait to see the final result tomorrow morning.

So, itll be on the car after work tomorrow. Dont know if i have time to update this weekend, as i will be gone to Limburg.

From 15" to 17"

Today, me and Eric went out to shoot some pics, and try out the new rims/tires. Here are the pics:


It was on 15" stock steelies before, so it really is a huge improvement. The tires are also great, a whole lot more grip, and still comfortable.

Ive been in love with the Bomex wing for the EK ever since i came across this hatch:I just ordered one :). The shop i ordered it at say they have fast delivery, and it is in stock! So im hoping to get it next week.

While browsing through my picture folder, i came across this 180sx. I normally dont like the facelifted bumper on the sx, but this is somehow one of my favourites. Clean and simple, just the way i like it.
Also found this EG. Its quite different from what you usually see. Multi-colour bumperlip, nosebra, and the Work Equip 03's.

Whoops!

Havent updated for a few weeks :/. Been quite busy with work, school, and playing games :).
Anyways, nothing really interesting has happened.

Lately ive been having some problems with the civic. It wasnt running the way it used to. I changed the sparkplugs, and the oil. The old plugs where all burned out.
So yeh, thats all fixed now :)

My stepdad bought new rims for his Peugeot 307. Dezent N in 17". Going to put some rubber on them on saturday (215/45/17 Rainsport 2). Ill post some pics of that when its done.

Im really looking forward to the 1st of march. We are gonna go to Tilburg with the SXOC guys for some driftkarting :). Should be fun.

A night out in the civics

About 2 weeks ago i made some footage of both mine, and Tom's civic. All video was filmed using my Sony DCR-SR55E, with a cheap eBay Fisheye lens. For editing i used Pinnacle Studio 12. This is the first video ive ever edited, so it might not be perfect, but it turned out pretty well for a first try i think.
Also, converting to Vimeo has made it a bit darker, and a few bits are a bit harder to see.

Yay! Nardi

So, about a week and a half ago, on the 15th, i finally got my Nardi Deep corn.

That weekend i went to Noud, so i checked to see if any of the local shops there had a hub for my civic. Bad luck for me, 3 shops in the area, an noone could help me. Bummer, guess that would have to wait then.

Still was a good weekend tho, Noud had just bought a new camera, so we went out to shoot some photos. That also gave me an opportunity to mess around with my cam a bit, and shoot some footage of both mine, and Tom's civic.

Still need to get around editing the video's, put some nice music on the background, and see how it turns out.

Anyways, back to the steeringwheel. On tuesday, before i went to school, i went to stop at FullCarTuning. Lucky for me, they had a nice hub, on which the nardi fits. Took it to work on wednesday, and mounted it in the car after work.

Because its still winter, its dark early, and i didnt get the chance to take some photos of it, untill today that is.

It feels real nice, and i could recommend it to anyone. The quality is outstanding, real good Italian craftsmanship. Oh, and please dont mind the mess thats called my interior, i know i need to vacuum it, but i just hate to do that in the freezing cold.

So yeh, i love cars, and all the things around it. I love working on cars, i love driving cars, so thats basicly what this blog is going to be about;

My car, my mates cars, cool cars ive come across, etc, etc.

At the moment i drive a Comet blue '98 Civic hatch. Fun little car, which could do with a little more power if you ask me. Currently it has about 115hp, deriving from the pretty much stock D15z6. Mind you that this is an economical engine (Vtec-E), and has pretty long gears, so its not exactly the fastest around. All in all its a great little motor, and ive done a few modifications to the car, to make it more enjoyable to drive.
